The 2018 Symposium on Arts & Research (SOAR) was held Tuesday, March 27. Hosted by the Office of the

Provost, the Symposium on Arts & Research is a one-day event celebrating the research, scholarship, and

artistry of SFA faculty. At this event, faculty research from the past year and research in progress is showcased.

Event Schedule

Presenter check-in and poster set up: 8-9 a.m.​

Poster Session: 9 a.m.-noon

Authors & Artists Reception: 11 a.m. - noon

Awards Presentation: noon-1 p.m.


​​​Poster Session (9 a.m.-noon)

The main poster session for the Symposium on Arts & Research features the research of faculty around campus, often including over 50 displays. The event is multi-disciplinary and features posters and other displays selected by each academic college. This event also features the Spotlight Presenters from each academic college.

LinkedIn and Social Media Booth (9 a.m.-noon)

Faculty, staff, and students can receive a free professional headshot along with social media and networking tools and tips. This booth is sponsored by the Center for Career and Professional Development and the SFA Photography Club.

​Authors and Artists Reception (11 a.m.-noon)

The Authors and Artists Reception honors all of those faculty members who published and/or performed or exhibited creative works in the previous calendar year. Publications are displayed, and authors, deans, and administration are invited to come, discuss their work, and enjoy some light refreshments. Individuals wishing to have their publications/performances/exhibitions recognized at this event are welcome to complete this form.

Awards Presentation (noon)

This event will honor the symposium's Spotlight Presenters and ORSP's grant award recipients. Hors d'oeuvres will be served.)
