D2L #2 - Grades: Beyond the Basics

Already familiar with the D2L gradebook? Ready to learn more? Topics in this workshop include: defining the gradebook, identifying gradebook icons, bulk editing, breaking old item “associations” in order to clean up a gradebook, making final grades display as letters, hiding grade items from students vs. hiding them from yourself, checking event logs (for item creation as well as for grade entry), using private comments, creating and using calculated items, creating and using text items, creating grade schemes for use in selectbox grade items, mass grading (for those occasional “completion” grades), entering individual feedback in the gradebook vs. entering feedback for the whole class, and the possibilities of multimedia feedback.
Introduction to Panopto for Lecture Capture

In this workshop, participants will be introduced to Panopto, a lecture capture system that you can use to record lectures in your classroom as well as at your desk. Panopto is integrated with D2L, so it's easy to make your Panopto recordings available to students.
Introduction to Collaborate Ultra for Web Conferencing
November 1, 3-4 p.m. (Facilitator: Randy Watson)
In this session, participants will learn about Collaborate Ultra, a powerful, multimedia web conferencing tool that integrates with D2L, and can easily be used in online courses. Participants will be given time during the workshop to try using Collaborate Ultra hands-on.
